The Commute

What’s the commute like?

It’s not so bad – really. Many students initially dread the commute, but discover that travel can be a benefit. The quiet time helps them transition from work and home to school. Many use flight or carpool time to catch up on reading, team assignments and other school work.

  • Evening Commute: Most evening students work within an hour’s drive of Chapel Hill so they can work until 5 and still arrive for class by 6 pm.
  • Weekend Commute: Most weekend students live within a nonstop flight of RDU airport or a four-hour drive. Some students carpool, especially from the Charlotte or DC/Richmond areas. Classes start at 9:30, so most students commute Friday morning. Some students arrive on Thursday evening and arrange their own hotel accommodations.
  • OneMBA Commute: Classes are held once a month near Washington D.C.’s Dulles airport. This allows OneMBA students to commute from across the US and Canada. Classes start at 9:30, so most commute in the morning, or arrange their own accommodations for Thursday night.

I live in Miami. Do you have any Weekend or OneMBA students commuting from there? If so, can you get me in touch with them?

    • Christine Ferrell says:

Nathan, absolutely! Right now, we have several students from South Florida in our Weekend and OneMBA classes. Why don’t you give me a call at 919-962-2499, and we can talk more about your specific situation. Once I learn a bit more about your background (industry of expertise, program interest, etc.), I can better pair you with a student living in Florida.
