Qualifications

Have I got what it takes?

We’re looking for experienced working professionals with a strong academic background. But just as important, we’re looking for people who will thrive in UNC’s team-based culture.

  • Work experience: On average, our students are in their mid-30s and have about 12 years of work experience. At the minimum, you’ll need five years work experience for the Weekend or Evening Program, or at least seven years for OneMBA.
  • Education: We evaluate your academic ability from your transcripts and GMAT scores. The GMAT isn’t required for OneMBA, but we recommend taking it if your quantitative background is not strong.
  • Other business skills: You will need basic accounting, statistics, finance, and economics, plus leadership and communication skills. You must be proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, including financial and statistical functions. If you need a refresher, sign up for UNC’s Review Workshops before your Program begins.

What is the class strength for the Evening MBA class? How many seats are up for grabs in the admission process? Thanks.

    • Christine Ferrell says:

      Hi Rupa,

We have an extremely strong Evening MBA class entering in August, and we also have a solid waitlist. At this time, I do not anticipate any seats will come available. However, as I mentioned in my answer to another question you had, we will begin accepting early applications for the Evening MBA Class of 2012, which begins in August 2010.

      Christine
